Cerita Blok M

When was the last time I visited Blok M? Honestly, I can’t remember, but it’s definitely been way too long!

Blok M was my favorite hangout spot during high school, which was over 20 years ago. I still have vivid memories of Pasar Melawai, where I bought my performance costume; Plaza Blok M, where I’d hang out with friends; and the always-crowded Blok M bus station, which wasn’t exactly the safest place. There was also this cool cafe that hosted underground music performances, where I even got to perform once.

On Sunday, December 15th, I joined a photo walk with PotoPotoKota and FujiShopID, strolling through Blok M on a breezy Sunday morning. There’s been a lot of development in this area, and it feels much friendlier now. The story of Blok M still holds onto that vibrant spirit that makes Jakarta, well, Jakarta.
