Last week, I attended Pinterest’s International Women’s Day fireside chat in Singapore. The event featured a special guest, Rachel Lim, the co-founder of Love, Bonito. Her insightful journey in business and personal life left a lasting impression on me.
With over a decade of experience building her brand, Rachel has navigated both the triumphs and challenges of entrepreneurship. But what stood out was her advice for young fashion designers just starting their journey.
In essence, she said:
“When you’re starting out, it’s easy to be an idealist, but remember, fashion is meant to be worn. Pay attention to what the market needs and always keep a commercial mindset. That’s the key to success!”
This advice resonated deeply with me, and I promptly shared it with my daughter, an aspiring artist and fashion enthusiast. I encourage her to take Rachel’s wisdom to heart. Best of luck in your endeavors!
