My professional journey started with a dream and a desk as an intern at Sony Music Indonesia.
I joined the Marketing team, where I learned about the music business and the art of getting the right songs to the right ears. From crafting campaigns to figuring out what makes people press play, every day was a mix of passion and confusion. After all, I came from a Computer Science background, not Marketing. But I stayed, kept learning, and eventually stayed for more than five years. Alhamdulillah, I was even named Employee of the Year for being innovative and delivering great results.
Fast-forward to the present. I got a message from Pak Tommy. He invited me to come back—this time not as an intern but as a guest speaker. The topic? What I’m doing now with Pinterest and why it’s become a go-to platform for Gen Z. Sony Music wants to stay ahead, and they’re curious about where their next big audience is hanging out.
Of course, I said yes. It felt like a calling.
What I didn’t expect was the full house. The whole Sony Music team showed up, including their artist managers. We dove into features like IG claiming and how they could repurpose their content to reach new audiences on Pinterest. I saw their eyes light up with ideas.
This is just the beginning of their Pinterest journey, and honestly, I’m so grateful to be part of it. To share what I’ve learned, to give back to the place where it all started, and to help shape the future of music marketing… what a ride.
