Last Friday night, I got invited to a listening party by Secret Signals. They were previewing the new album from the dream-pop lullabies band, Cigarettes After Sex, at Swee Lee. That band name is pretty provocative, right?
The band’s third album, X’s, has 10 songs and sounds a lot like their previous ones. I love it because I can play their whole catalog as background music while I’m reading and it feels just right. Anyway, my favorites from this album are “Silver Sable”, and “Holding you, Holding me”
This was my first time visiting Swee Lee at Clarke Quay. The place is super cozy and feels really homey. I love how they mix a music instrument shop with a chill hangout spot and cafe.
For this event, I used the Across+Ye film simulation and an 18mm F2 lens. I wanted to capture the band’s gloomy ambiance with my photo storytelling.
