Redifining My Values

Times like this make me pause and reflect. How can I realign my life and live with greater purpose? That question led me to redefine my core values. And this is where the journey of rediscovery begins.

During my coaching session, I discussed why I felt unmotivated and so heavy inside.

My coach then asked me about what I value the most in life. This made me think.

I left the questions hanging for quite some time, until I picked them up again recently.

To guide the process, I used the “Live Your Values” card deck created by Lisa and Andreea Niculescu.

I set the intention to gain clarity about who I am, find my calling, and commit fully to the life mission that moves me toward my goals.

I limited myself to choosing only values that matter most to me.

So, here they are:

The first important value is “mindfulness”. According to the card, this is a state where the focus is on the present moment.

Second is “gratitude”, to give heartfelt thanks and appreciation regularly and openly.  In other words, keep the mind saying positive things.

I chose “humility” as the third value. It is important to cultivate the act of humbleness and not to think I am better than others. Everyone fights their own battle.

The fourth one is “spirituality”: it is a value to recognize and celebrate a power greater than myself and ground myself in love.

Intuition” is the fifth value for me. I want to have trust in myself and allow myself to feel and honor all of my feelings.

This value aligns with my human design chart as a reflector, as it allows me to find time each day to be silent and still and to listen to what’s going on inside me and what I need.

I want to practice hopefulness and confidence about the future, which is why I feel that “optimism” is another value that matters to me.

And the last card I chose is “success” value. This is my ongoing effort to fight my self-limiting beliefs, focus on my commitments to my goals, and surround myself with people who will support me.

These are the values that I hold onto at this moment. I want to focus and be consistent in practicing it.

They may change one day, perhaps, but these values that I have now, to help me back on track, chin up and keep moving forward.
