Studying In Singapore is Tough: Tips From Indonesia Alumni

Singapore’s education system is known for being competitive and stressful, yet it also promises greater success in life. That’s why students who pursue studying in Singapore, especially those in secondary school or pre-university, need a solid strategy to choose the right major and plan their future.

Last Saturday, FKMIS (Forum Komunikasi Masyarakat Indonesia di Singapura) and PIPUS (Pelajar Indonesia Pra-Universitas Singapura) hosted a sharing session at the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore. The session featured alumni Ingmar, Qari, and Samuel. They shared valuable tips on selecting a study path, building a strong portfolio, and finding mentors through networks like PIPUS.

As a parent and an Indonesian migrant, sessions like these help me guide my daughters who are currently studying in Singapore. If you ever get the chance to join one, go for it! Let’s be real, “I’ll figure it out later” isn’t exactly the best plan.
