Last Friday night, Secret Signals hosted an intimate listening party in Singapore for the third studio album by dream-pop darlings Cigarettes After Sex.
Held at Swee Lee Clarke Quay, the event gave early access to X’s—a 10-track collection soaked in the band’s signature slowcore haze. And yeah, that band name? Still provocative in the best way.
The album stays true to their atmospheric roots, perfect for background listening while journaling, reading, or drifting into your own thoughts. Personal highlights? “Silver Sable” and “Holding You, Holding Me”—both haunting, both heartbreakingly good.
It was also my first time stepping into Swee Lee’s Clarke Quay location, and the vibe didn’t disappoint. Imagine a hybrid of a premium music gear store, minimalist café, and low-key creative lounge. Cozy, stylish, and sonically rich.
To document the night, I shot with an 18mm F2 lens using the Across+Ye film simulation, aiming to echo the band’s moody aesthetic through soft contrasts and deep shadows. The visuals? As dreamy as the soundtrack itself.
