Ten years ago, I landed in Singapore with a suitcase and a quiet prayer. I couldn’t have imagined how deeply this country would shape me personally, spiritually, and professionally.
Last Sunday, exactly a decade later, I was given the honour to serve in a way that feels deeply personal. I was officially appointed as the Commissioner for Digital and Communication at the Forum Komunikasi Masyarakat Indonesia di Singapura (FKMIS).
The moment was made even more meaningful by the presence of Ambassador Bapak Suryo Pratomo and the warm gesture of receiving a pin from Chief Selamet Gunawan.
To be trusted with this role feels like more than just a milestone. It feels like amanah. A whisper from above, reminding me: this is the time to give back.
As Commissioner, my mission is clear:
- To share stories and news across Indonesian communities in Singapore
- To promote collaboration between groups
- And to amplify positive narratives that uplift our diaspora
I know the journey ahead will be challenging, but I walk into it with intention, asking Allah SWT for strength, wisdom, and sincerity.
Here’s to ten years of growing roots and many more to growing impact.
